General Information
This is a point-based chorus battle with three rounds (“Games”) in all. Each Game will be 6 weeks, with a 3 week judging period, and 1 week to allow between the end of the judging period and the next round. Although there is no elimination in this CB, teams must submit for all three Games to be eligible for the prize.Double Chance:
- Each Game will have a 24-hour grace period.
- For the first 12 hours, there will be no deductions.
- For the last 12 hours, there will be a 2 point deduction per hour (max -24 pts).Themes:
- Each Game, you will be given three words as a theme, randomly generated through a pool of pre-selected words.
- You must follow all three components of the given theme to be eligible for the maximum amount of points in that subcategory.Anonymity:
- Teams may register anonymously
Individual members of non-anonymous teams may register anonymously.
- Hosts will know the true identity of anonymous members/teams, and they must have valid SNS links at registration.
Team Composition
A team may be composed of 4, 5, 8, or 10 members.
- At the beginning of each Game, members will be assigned a role through the CB Hosts
- - - Vocalist, Mixer, Artist, Animator, or Jackal
- - - Each game, this assigned role will change. For example, if you were assigned “artist” for the first Game, your possible roles for the second Game are vocalist, mixer, animator, or Jackal. During Game 3, there may be some repeat roles depending on the team composition.
4 Members | 5 Members | 8 Members | 10 Members |
---|---|---|---|
Great for CB Masos who want a very small team of doubles | Great for CB Veterans who want a small team of doubles | Great for CB rookies who want to focus on only one role per Game | Great for CB Masos who want an added challenge of a larger team but still only have one role per Game |
Assigned Roles: | Assigned Roles: | Assigned Roles: | Assigned Roles: |
1 Vocal + Mix Double | 1 Vocal | 3 Vocal | 4 Vocal |
1 Vocal + Art Double | 1 Vocal + Mix Double | 1 Mixer | 2 Mixer |
1 Vocal + Anim Double | 1 Vocal + Art Double | 2 Artist | 2 Artist |
1 Jackal + Jackal Double (gets to pick 2 DIFFERENT roles to do for the Game) | 1 Vocal + Anim Double | 1 Animator | 1 Animator |
1 Jackal | 1 Jackal | 1 Jackal |
The Jackal may help one role in need.
- This means that you may end up with +1 of any role.
- - - Example for 4 member team: 4 vocalists, 1 mixer, 2 artists, 1 animator (Jackal is Vocal + Artist for the round).
- - - Example for 5 member team: 4 vocalists, 1 mixer, 1 artist, 2 animators (Jackal is Animator for the round).

- This title is assigned to you by the Hosts, and you will be allowed to choose any one of the traditional CB roles to fulfill for that Game.
- The Jackal’s role for the Game must be declared by the second week of the Game.
- - - There will be a Google Forms for this.
- - - You may NOT change the role that the Jackal fulfills after submitting the declaration form.
- - - Failure to declare the Jackal’s role for the Game, as well as an illegal change in the Jackal’s role during the game, will result in a -10 point deduction. You may be part of more than one team. Do so at your own risk.
- If you are part of two or more teams, and you choose to drop out of one during the competition, it will mean that you are dropping out of all teams. This is not negotiable.
- Team leaders of all teams whose member is dropping will be contacted via DM, and leaders will have 2 weeks to find a replacement member. You may switch people out of the team without penalty.
- You must notify one of the Hosts via DM or through the CB Twitter DMs
- The person’s roles will be treated as if they were the same person. If Member A was an animator for G1 and vocalist for G2 but dropped out, their replacement member would join G2 as a vocalist and would potentially be the artist or mixer for G3.
Passes

- Receive ONE per team at registration
- Only use in case of extreme technical difficulties (eg, no alternate programs will run)

- - - A can continue with the sketches that B drew, or start a new project completely
- With this said, we ask you to check out the programs you plan to use for each role to make sure they run properly.Role Switch Pass
- Promo Reward

- - - Yes you get to choose which members switch roles
- - - Example: Member A is a vocalist and Member B is an animator. By switching, A is now an animator and B is now a vocalist.

- - - This will be deducted from your round total
- You must buy/use the pass within the first 2 weeks of the round

Q: What are some free programs for each role?
A: These are merely free and not necessarily good, but here are some programs:
- Vocalist/Mixer - Audacity, Reaper, Cakewalk
- Artist - GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP), Inkscape, Microsoft Paint, FireAlpaca, MediBangPaint, Ibis Paint X (apple/android app)
- Animator - AviUtil, DaVinci Resolve, Lightworks, kdenliveQ: How much help can a teammate give to another teammate regarding a role?
A: A teammate may send any tutorials/instructions, but the teammate with the assigned role must complete it - any file sharing between members with different roles is prohibited.Q: Roles are assigned?? How does that work?
A: At the beginning of each game (round), the team leader will be notified of members’ roles, such as “Nagisa - Artist; shiorichan - Animator; Nash - Jackal; Neriful - Mixer” etc. Each member must complete their assigned role for the CB, even if they may not have prior experience.Q: Ok, but what if none of us knows how to do our roles?
A: Don’t worry, and try your best! One of our subcategories takes this into consideration, and gives points on how well you did despite the odds being against you.Q: What is the Jackal?
A: The Jackal is a made-up role for this CB. The member who is assigned this role may choose ONE of the other main roles (vocalist, artist, mixer, animator) and assist them in that category. For example, if your animator has never animated before, your Jackal may choose to be an animator for that round to assist your animator. This is NOT a trade in roles, nor does it excuse the original animator from not doing anything for the round.Q: Is the mixer role the only one that can provide harmony/adlib guides?
A: No, any role can provide harmony/adlib guides as long as they are credited properly, as guides are not explicitly a "mixer" role. (For example, some teams ask a vocalist to work on guides) With this same thought process, scripting can be done by any role.
